ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CATEGORIES
- Nutritional epidemiology, community nutrition
- Immunity and nutrients
- Vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals
- Critical Care/ Enteral Nutrition/Parenteral Nutrition
- Liver and gastrointestinal tract
- Nutrition and chronic diseases
- Malnutrition, obesity, sarcopenia, and the metabolic syndrome
- Nutrition and cancer
- Peadiatrics
- Nutritional techniques and formulations
- Geriatrics
- Nursing (nursing issues in artificial nutrition interventions, monitoring, etc)
- Perioperative nutrition (Enhanced Recovery after Surgery {ERAS}, trauma and postoperative complications)
For standardization, the acceptable length of the abstract is not more than 300 printable words, not including the title, author’s details, and conflict of interest. Please refer to the word count of the system as slight differences may occur when counting with WORD or similar programs.
The abstract needs to be structured as follows:
- Rationale / Background: This section should contain 1-2 sentences that clearly indicate the scientific question of the study and its clinical (or other) importance.
- Study Design & Methods: This section should contain sufficient information to be able to understand the experimental design, the analytical techniques, and the statistics used
- Results: This section should contain objective data to answer the scientific question(s).
- Conclusions: This section should provide only conclusions of the study directly supported by the results, along with implications for clinical practice, avoiding speculation and over-generalization.Statements such as “the results will be discussed” or “data will be presented and discussed” are not acceptable.
Late-breaking abstracts
- Late-breaking abstracts may be accepted from the 28th May up to 17thJune 2022, Midnight, IST.
- Late-breaking abstracts will only be presented as posters.
Presentation of abstracts
- Abstracts can be accepted either as an e-Poster/POSTER or ORALPresentation.
- The Abstract Scientific Committee will select submitted abstracts and determine whether they are accepted for Oral or Poster presentation.
- E-Posters should be a single page ppt slide in portrait (16:9) Format – more details on how to submit your e-Poster will be provided.
If you want to withdraw your abstract, a written statement reflecting the reasons for this decision must be sent to the PENSA Secretary (pensacenter@gmail.com) no later than 1 June 2022.
RESEARCH AWARDS:
Research awards will be classified into 2 categories.
- 1. PENSA award for oral presentation: supported by PENSA centre
- 2. Poster presentation award: supported by Chomchark Chuntrasakul Research Foundation
In addition, a certificate will be provided for all award recipients.
